About the PGMTL
The Pharmacogenomics Laboratory (PGMTL) aims at the identification of gene polymorphisms associated with individual risk, both for disease and toxicity or efficacy of a given treatment. Additionally, the molecular and structural determinants underlying the development of disease are studied within the PL at the level of transcriptional regulation of genes relevant for the clearance of chemicals, under the influence of external and internal stimuli. Molecular biology and pharmacogenomic approaches are used both in in vitro and in vivo disease models, as well as in population-based case-control and cohort studies, in the frame of national and international networks.
CYP7A1, CYP27A1 and CYP7B1 polymorphisms. Patterns of DNA fragments obtained for each genotype identified. PCR-RFLP analysis was performed using specific primers and enzymes.
